Leah Bosworth: Yoga teacher for February 11 - 18, 2012 Costa Rica retreat Leah Bosworth is a certified yoga instructor who is known for her powerful, inspirational and lighthearted style
of teaching that incorporates the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of the practice of yoga.
Her classes
are a unique blend of the creative sequencing and dynamic Vinyasa flow (flowing from one pose to another in conjunction with
the breath), with a strong focus on precise alignment, meditation, intention, and visualization to create an inner journey
towards healing and empowerment.
Leah believes in honoring one’s own practice and encourages her students
to work in a way that feels the most uplifting, opening, and freeing to them, while also gently challenging them to move out
of their comfort zone. With her diverse background in yoga and movement, she is able to modify and utilize many different
styles of yoga and modalities, creating a supportive environment for all levels of practice. As a dancer and an actor, when she started practicing yoga fifteen years ago she thought it would be easy for
her. However, she discovered that yoga was so much more than she imagined! It was challenging, beautiful, and life changing.
And it was there that she found her “Self” and inner guidance system.
Leah has had the privilege and
opportunity to study with many exceptional teachers, including Cyndi Lee of Om Yoga, John Salisbury and Jenn Chiarelli of
Life Power. Her greatest influence has been studying with Elena Brower of Virayoga in NYC. Leah also studied and
co-taught with Fay Simpson, who created the “Lucid Body,” a system based on alignment and the seven chakras. She
is forever grateful for having the opportunity to discover firsthand the healing power of this work, for it is invaluable
to her teaching.
“Teaching yoga leads me to my higher self. Nothing makes me feel more grounded and more
connected to the world. My mission is to help others to find their inner guidance system, to release emotional blocks, and
transform themselves on and off the mat. Through the physical practice of yoga, meditation, stillness, and cultivating concentration
with a light heart, we melt away layers that are blocking our true self, our authentic self, the self that lights up the world
and makes it the magical place that it was intended to be.”
After living in New York City for ten years,
Leah currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona, where she teaches classes, coaches private clients, and plays with her puppies! www.leahbosworth.com
